Just back from a trip to the Bay Area meeting with a couple of companies that inherently trigger fond memories of childhood: Klutz of Scholastic and University Games. We’ve worked with Klutz for a couple of years now – partnering with them on the production of the Animation book to help kids quickly and easily create fun and stilly stop motion videos at home (how can you not want to make a Duck, Duck Poop animation!?) University Games we just met, but they’ve been around for years, their bread and butter being the Murder Mystery Part Series Games that have since expanded to every game you can imagine. One of University Games’ acquisitions over the years was Colorforms – yes, going waaaay back.

While walking through the respective office buildings in San Francisco and Palo Alto, I felt as if I was back in my Imagineering days, where there wasn’t really a straight wall to be seen – or a white one at that. Stacks and piles of games and books, some overstock, some that never even made it to market. Fun things hanging from the ceiling, quirky signs on the walls. At iCreate, we naturally find ourselves working with these companies that bring us back to the raw enjoyment of playing UNO or jacks cross-legged on the floor – yet we’re the digital link from then into today. Kids can still be in the physical space messing about, yet with SAM or myCreate they can dive into the digital world. We’re fostering a simple blend of old meets new, imagination meets innovation. Such an example is Miss Weather Colorforms bringing seasons to life with SAM Animation!
