The fifth edition of the Montreal Stop Motion Festival will be taking place from 18th to 20th October. It will open on Friday night with screening of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas as it is 20 years since the release of this musical stop motion movie.
Earlier this year, you may have come across the sad news about the death of stop motion producer Ray Harryhausen who died on May 7th. He is well known mainly for his last film, Clash of the Titans (1981). A documentary about the movies he worked on will be presented on the festival this Saturday to honour the memory of this great visual effects creator.
During the weekend, there will be free family screenings and hands-on stop motion workshops.
So all animation enthusiasts from the Montreal area, head to the Theater at Concordia University this weekend!
