Good Play Guide meets HUE Animation Studio
Time flies when you’re having fun and summer vacations can often feel as though they whizz by far too quickly.
Thankfully, memories can last a lifetime, and photos, postcards, scrapbooks and diaries provide fabulous ways to preserve those precious family moments.
‘What I did on my summer vacation’ projects are also popular back to school and homeschool activities, usually involving an essay, exaggerated story or an illustration exercise.
As children return to classrooms, this fun, fall semester project serves as a fantastic icebreaker after weeks apart, and it helps children to develop language, literacy, sequencing and creative skills too.
But, if a picture is worth a thousand words, a movie must be worth a million, right?
A while back we were sent a beautiful animation called Adventure in Unst, about a family summer vacation in the most northerly island in the UK, and we loved the idea of making a stop motion vacation ‘forever memory’.
So, to help you make your own movie mementos, the HUE team has created a brilliant bumper pack of backgrounds and vacation-themed cut-outs for you to bring to life with HUE Animation Studio.
For a limited time only the resources are free to download and use for creating ‘digital postcards’ to send to friends, grandparents, uncles and aunts, or for students to use for ‘what I did on my summer vacation’ school projects to share with teachers and classmates.
Download them today from the Schools Resources page on the HUE website or Teachers Pay Teachers.
2D cut-out animation projects are one of the easiest types of stop motion animation to try if you are a beginner. Find out everything you need to know about how to get started with these helpful tips & tricks for making your first stop motion movie. And, if you need a little extra help, make sure you check out the extensive library of animation tutorials and FAQs on the HUE website.
We hope the activity pack inspires you to design your own cut outs and backgrounds and get animating this summer!
If you are unsure what to do with the cut outs and backgrounds, check out our summer vacation video on YouTube for a little bit of animation inspiration.
Don’t forget that music and sound effects can really bring an animation to life. Luckily, there are plenty of places to find free audio or, if you are feeling creative, why not learn how to make your own foley sound effects with HUE Animation Studio?
If you don’t have a HUE Animation Studio kit but would love the chance to win one, leave us a message in the comments section of the blog sharing your favorite summer 2022 memory.
Good luck and happy animating from the HUE team!
