Elizabeth’s Kitchen Diary reviews HUE Animation Studio

One question we’re often asked by teachers who are looking to integrate Hue into their lessons as a low-cost visualiser is whether we can recommend any additional software packages. A lot of people want to take advantage of the teaching opportunities that a portable camera offers but with so many applications available it’s tricky to know where to start!
Well, Jon Haines has put together a helpful guide to assist his fellow educators in getting the most out of their webcam purchase. Not only does he cover the basics with an introduction to visualisers (or document cameras, if you’re reading this from the US), he also suggests software packages and techniques for creating comic strips, animated GIFs and playing with the still photo capture feature of a webcam to annotate and enhance your pictures. We highly recommend taking a look to see how you can make Hue – or any other USB camera – work better for you in the classroom.
