The history of stop motion animation
From the blogosphere: itslearning on how video enhances teaching
“We’re ready to do it again!” exclaimed Dotty Corbiere in the video testimony below upon reflecting the recent pilot with her 2nd graders who built their own ‘circle stories’ out of LEGO Education’s StoryStarter product, and then shared these stories with our myCreate iPad app.
LEGO StoryStarter with myCreate – Engaging students in the writing process
The project blends all elements of 21st century learning to motivate and engage students through the writing process. By physically constructing their stories out of the LEGO pieces, their ideas became tangible and visual, giving way to clearly written stories. One of the downfalls with building the stories, however, is that those visual representations need to be deconstructed at some point. This is where our app fits well into the project. By using myCreate, the students were able to capture, share, and save forever their visual story in animated form. It’s a perfect melding of two well-designed hands-on products that ultimately supports the writing process in the classroom.
