The Creative Classroom, and Why Jason Does What He Does
What’s keeping girls from STEM careers and what we can do to change it!
Brandon here, Chief Technology Officer, here at iCreate. Just wanted to drop in and share some great news about our newly released myCreate 2.0. While I was on schedule to share my top 5 apps, truth is I have way more exciting news to share: myCreate 2.0 is here and after a couple of battles with iOS7, it’s now running like a charm on both the iPhone and iPad. myCreate 2.0 is also internally referred to as the “next generation of SAM” and proceeds by just a few months the desktop version. So, let’s take a look at how we’re continuing to inspire the creator.
myCreate is Free
That means zero cost to download and install myCreate to animate and share with your friends or family – on the iPad AND iPhone now. Similar to SAM Animation, we’ve opted for limited feature as opposed to limited time, allowing you to take up to 30-pictures to share (a 3 to 30 second video, depending on your selected frame rate). What if you’ve purchased myCreate for iPad 1.x? You will be all set in our system if you have registered per the previous version 1.3.3, and will simply need to ‘restore purchases’. However if you missed the window to register, then you can be sure to drop us a line with your purchase receipt or a screen shot will do and we’ll be sure to get you up and running with the full version.
New Interface
Working with a talented user experience developer we were able to pull together a more streamlined design, informed by years of observing SAM customers. So not only does it provide a clean interface for animating, but it leaves room for many more features to come down the road, appealing to the most advanced animator.
Import Pictures
You suggested it and we listened. The ability to import images from your existing albums on your device is now possible. Feel free to import those previous pictures or take pictures on the fly and import them into your project.
iPhone Support
I know you’re excited about this, myCreate now supports iPhone! Now you can – on the fly – capture anything in stop motion and encode it to a video to share. Need more than 30 pictures? That’s where our iPad version comes in, and if you submit your email, we’ll put you in the queue to receive a discount on myCreate for desktop, which will be downloadable by the end of this year, boast the same interface, and allow you to share projects in the cloud.
Remember to feel free to share any suggestions or feedback you have on our Ideas site, as we’ll certainly take those into consideration as we launch future releases on mobile and desktop…. Happy Creating!
