The World’s Smallest Stop Motion Animation

The World’s Smallest Stop Motion Animation

An Aardman animation has made the Guinness Book of Records for having the smallest character ever in a stop motion animation. The film features a tiny girl called Dot who is 9mm tall, on a mini journey running over things such as the top of pins, 2p coins and the top of pencils, past ladybirds and then jumping on the back of a bee to escape being caught up by a rolling up canvas which she eventually knits up into a blanket for herself. It’s extremely detailed and really entertaining to watch. And its all filmed on a normal Nokia phone!

‘Dot’ made by Aardman Animations and Weiden and Kennedy for Nokia:

How the directors and animators actually made the world’s smallest animation is fascinating. This clip shows the thought processes behind it and the work they put into it.
