Check out Vineland Public Library in Vineland, NJ. They love HUE Animation!
From Terri Carpenter (Young Adult Librarian, Vineland Public Library):
“Early this year our public library received a grant to help start a small Maker Space in our Teen Room. One of the resources we used when deciding what to purchase was the blog Teen Librarian Toolbox (TLT), which was created by Karen Jenson, MLS. Karen’s review of the HUE Animation Software inspired us to purchase three HUE Animation Studio kits.
The HUE Animation Software was easy to get up and running and it was fairly easy for a beginner to learn to use. The flexible camera was extremely helpful in capturing the steady succession of shots needed for a stop-motion film. The Chroma Key tool was useful and fun to use, however many of our teens expressed a wish that they could change all of their slides at once, instead of one-by-one. Over all, we are happy with the software and are looking forward to making more movies in the future.
To introduce the HUE Animation Software, we scheduled a Stop-Motion Movie Making Program for teens, ages 13-18, as part of our Summer Reading Program. The program was three hours long and teens worked alone and in groups to create short films using Stickbots, LEGOs, clay, toys and their own artwork. Following the program, the teens were able to come into the Teen Room during open hours to edit their movies. The final event of our Summer Reading Program was a Film Festival/Potluck Dinner where we gathered to watch the movies and share a meal.
In the future, we plan to hold more movie-making programs and make the software available for teens to use during the Teen Room’s open hours. I would recommend the HUE Animation Software to others.”
