College of Occupational Therapist Specialist Section: Mental Health in partnership with Animated Encounters and Animation Therapy present:
Animation on Prescription
A one day study event exploring the use of animation in health and social care. Speakers include leading occupational therapists and artists who will present their experiences of using animation as therapy in both clinical and community practice. The emergence of animated documentary as a technique within the field of animation and its relevance within therapies will also be explored during a panel discussion.
The event will be of particular interest to occupational and creative therapists, AHP’S (including SALT’s and psychologists), academics, artists, teachers and members of the public interested in finding out about the use of animation in therapy.
Key note speaker: David Sproxton CBE, Co-founder of Aardman Animations.
Case study presentations include speakers from Adult Forensic Psychiarty and Paediatrics. Sally Payne the occupational therapist behind the children’s series Tree Fu Tom and Helen Mason creator of the Re-Animation Approach, guiding therapist and artists in the therapeutic use of animation will share their experiences.
