Do you think that creating stop motion animation has to be a long and tedious process?

Think again! The fact is that you can make a stop motion animation in an hour and have fun doing it. Animating doesn’t have to take ages and be boring and we’ve got proof!

Leoni Kibbey from the St Albans Film Festival ran some animation workshops for kids from Trafalgar Junior School, and Hue sponsored the event. Each class had just one hour to make a stop frame animation. They did a great job.

Leoni said “I had a fantastic week making animations with the children and they all found the software really easy to use and had great fun learning how to make animations.”

Of course making a movie from hundreds of still images is more time-consuming than just filming it, but it’s also a fun way to get your creative juices flowing. These kids really enjoyed learning how to make animations and they created their own short stop motion films in an hour. So to go back to my question from the beginning, no, creating stop motion movies doesn’t have to be a long and tedious process! Stop motion is fun.
