[TR/EN] HUE kameralar artık Amazon Türkiye’de! / HUE cameras now available on Amazon Türkiye!
Guest Post written by Sharon Hattersley. Sharon is a primary school teacher, and soon to be educational charity worker, who won a HUE HD Pro document camera in March this year. When Sharon contacted us to claim their prize, we found out about the fantastic charity initiative Sharon and the 1st Burley-in-Wharfedale Brownies set up in 2017 called the #BookmarkProject.
Whether you are a teacher, parent, art lover or bookworm, read on to find out how to get involved, raise money for a brilliant cause and bag yourself a miniature work of art by well-known celebrities, artists and illustrators!
Primary School teacher for 20+ years, Brownie leader for more, and now working for an education charity. I was thrilled to win a HUE camera in the Teacher Hug Radio prize draw and it’s been very useful for Teams meetings in my new role and I hope to use it more to share resources in the future.
I’ve been involved with Katiyo Primary School since 2000 and we have raised over £50,000 in that time. With my Brownies – 1st Burley-in-Wharfedale Brownies – I have supported Katiyo Primary School in Zimbabwe for the last 20 years.
We started The Bookmark Project in 2017 and the 2022 auction will be our sixth one.
I start preparing for the auction around the start of January by getting the Brownies to write to their favourite authors and illustrators and by sending out countless letters and tweets of my own. We ask them to doodle on the bookmarks and return them to us, they are then auctioned online in May each year.
Some are signatures, others are miniature works of art. We started in 2017 with around 60 bookmarks and have grown to over 400 last year.
All the money we raise goes to support projects at Katiyo Primary School in Zimbabwe. Previously we have built blocks of toilets, bought stands for water tanks, purchased a reading scheme and brought electricity to the school.
We are currently working on raising the funds needed to build a nursery classroom.
This year, so far we have bookmarks from Axel Scheffler, Jackie Morris, Anne Fine, Neil Gaiman, Jason Donovan, Anton Du Beke and many more.
The auction starts on Monday 9th May and finishes on Monday 23rd May. New lots are being added all the time and you can check them out by visiting the Bookmark Project auction site.
