2022 has been another rollercoaster year with highs, lows and loop-de-loops galore. With 2023 now firmly in sight, the team at HUE has taken some time to reflect and look back at our favorite experiences from the past year that have brought us joy, laughter and lightbulb moments.   

We had to buy an even bigger trophy cabinet! 

2022 was a bumper year for awards with HUE Animation Studio and the HUE HD Pro document camera winning awards from the Creative Play, Tech & Learning, Junior Design, Comenius Edumedia and many, many more.

It was full STEAM ahead for HUE Animation Studio

More good news arrived in August 2022 when HUE Animation Studio received two official STEAM Stamps of Approval from the Toy Association of America and Dr. Amanda Gummer’s The Good Play Guide™.

HUE Animation Studio met the criteria in all three areas of The Toy Association™’s (STEAM) toy assessment framework (Gummer & Taylor, 2020):

• Characteristics of a ‘good toy’.
• Prime STEAM attributes.
• Specific STEM categories.

We made 45,000* friends on Instagram!

*Technically this didn’t all happen in 2022, but, we are thrilled to have reached this fantastic milestone and gotten to know so many amazing teachers over on IG.

Hot off the press!

Animation-loving macOS users were given something to sing about this year when we upgraded HUE Animation Studio in December 2022.

A perpetual single-user license of the excellent Stop Motion Studio software, compatible with Windows 10 or later and macOS 11+, is now included in the kit.

Existing HUE Animation users should visit huehd.com/sms to find out more and to download Stop Motion Studio software if desired (T&Cs apply).

We celebrated even more amazing teachers 

Long time subscribers of the HUE blog will know how much we love sharing teaching tips and ideas from the HUE Community and 2022 was no exception as we launched our Teachers In Focus blog.

We received contributions from around the globe covering almost every curriculum subject and education level from Kindergarten to University. 

Highlights this year came from art teacher Mariú Escoto, math teacher Sammy White, and STEM Learning Coaches Ashley Faulkner and Josh Rayburn, who all shared the varied, wonderful ways they use their HUE cameras.

We visited some old friends and made some new ones

We had to learn some new languages

Due to popular demand we made it even easier for teachers to purchase HUE cameras by opening up seven new Amazon stores around the world in Poland, Netherlands, Sweden, Türkiye, Australia, Belgium and Mexico. We now know how to say “HUE document cameras are amazing” in more than 20 languages!
